Eden Garcia- Balis, M. S. LMFT, After an extensive search, Eden Garcia-Balis was named Executive Director of AMCS after Kathleen O’Leary Lefferman announced she was stepping aside to join her husband in retirement. Eden has been in the mental health field for 15 years. She has a passion for working with the underprivileged, uninsured or underinsured and believes all people regardless of socioeconomic status deserve quality, mental health services they can afford. Eden is a licensed Marriage and Family Therapist and brings a strong clinical background to her position at AMCS. | |||||||

Diana Hoffman, Ph.D., Clinical Director, graduated from the California School of Professional Psychology, San Diego, following her undergraduate studies at the University of California, Santa Barbara. For the first 12 years of her career she worked with the homeless mentally ill, during which time she not only provided direct services, but she operated short-term residential facilities and supervised training therapists. Her contributions to the mental health community include the construction of a training program for staff and interns for an agency operating 28 facilities. Dr. Hoffman has been continuing her contributions to the community through her work with Airport Marina Counseling Service since June 2009 | |||||||

Dr. Adam Sheck, has been Director of Psychology Training at AMCS for over a decade. In addition to supervising interns and facilitating the Couples Training Track at AMCS, he is a psychologist and couples counselor in private practice. Karen Schlaff, I am a Clinical Psychologist with a private practice in Westwood where I specialize in treating mood disorders, trauma recovery, and couples therapy. I have lived in Los Angeles for about forty years and earned my M.A. at LMU and my Ph.D. at USC. I have been a Supervisor at AMCS for fifteen years and I do it because I strongly believe in community mental health care at affordable prices and because I enjoy teaching and guiding future psychotherapists. | |||||||

Tejal Yarmand began working with Airport Marina Counseling Service in 2008 as an offsite volunteer clinical supervisor. In 2009 she began coordinating the off-site program at the Boys and Girls of Venice, specializing in working with children and Youth ages 5-18. In addition to supervising the interns working individually with clients, she oversaw the Parenting Education class as well as the court approved Anger Management program offered by Airport Marina Counseling Service. Since 2010, Tejal also began clinical supervision at AMCS’ Orville Wright Middle School offsite location. Clinical issues at both locations include, but are not limited to: childhood trauma, sexual and physical abuse, chemical addiction, depression and anxiety. Tejal also has a private practice in Marina del Rey where she works with individuals, couples and families. | |||||||
